Mainstage 3 no longer starts - crashes on startup

Folks, HELP please

I haven't used Mainstage for about 1-2 months so I can't say exactly when did it break. I thought it was the upgrade to Mojave, but according to Apple the latest version IS compatible, so I have no idea what's going on. Essentially, when I try to open it, Mainstage immediately crashes with the error message below. I read several articles with tips, like uninstalling and reinstalling, etc. So far, nothing works. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Folks... Problem solved!

YES, the culprit was Cylance Protect. Thanks A LOT @astiocle for pointing that out.

Cylance first blocked the library for MainStage and then blocked the same library for GarageBand.

I have no idea how Cylance decides to quarantine the files - it's definitely when I open the app.

Anyway, after un-quarantining the files, everything is back to normal.

Adissu, if I had anything else malfunctioning I would do it for sure. I also have Cubase on it, some Arturia plugins, etc.... Everything is working fine. Actually, even MainStage and GarageBand were. MainStage broke first, when Apple released the updated version. And then GarageBand, the exact same way - new update and it broke. I could possibly fix the issues if I could install the previous versions of these two apps - and I would rather do that than reinstalling everything else on the Mac. Thanks!

I am getting the exact same error when trying to start up Mainstage, so I don't know that it's unique to your PC. It's been months since I ran it too, so I'm not sure when the error started. I've dumped the .plist file and removed/reinstalled the application with no success.

I am not having the same issue with Garageband though (that's starting up fine). Have you had any success since your last post?

I guess, this is not what you really want to hear but I would try to make a full new installation of the macOS. Since you seem to be the only one at the moment that faces these issues and Garageband is affected now as well. Maybe there is a problem with the audio drivers or hardware.

Maybe you should only install macOS and MainStage for now and try. If it is working, you can add new software step by step to figure out, if there is a guilty one. If even after a fresh install with only MainStage the problem remains, it might be a hardware issue. Do you use the internal audio interface or an external one and does this make any difference?
