pdf doc printing as solid black page
Hello All,
I'm hoping someone here will be able to shed light on a strange problem I've encountered trying to print from the Preview application.
I use an Epson XP-960 printer. My iMac is running Mojave 10.14.1, and I have the latest Epson driver installed (9.81).
When printing a bank statement (a pdf file opened in Preview), the entire page is printing as solid black except for the sidebar where the document has a pale green background. It appears the printer is replacing any white areas on the page with black. So far this has only happened with the statements from this particular bank.
I was on the phone troubleshooting with Epson this morning for 1.5 hours and they said the printer must be faulty and suggested exchanging it for a new one (under warranty), which I did this morning.
But the new printer (with new cartridges) is doing the same thing with the same document!
So I thought it might be a bug in the document. But when I tried printing older statements from the same bank that previously printed normally, it happened with those too!
Digging around online I saw some suggest making sure the option to replace white areas with black was not selected in the print dialog, but I see no such feature.
If I make a screenshot of the document and print the .png image file, it prints normally (no solid black page).
The only other clue I can think of is that I recently upgraded to Mojave.
Has anyone experienced their printer printing solid black where there should be a white background?
Any tips or ideas would be appreciated, as troubleshooting has already used a lot of ink!😟
Thanks
iMac, macOS Mojave (10.14.1), null
