I have a notification to update, I click the update button and then the system restart the machine but it happened that my macbook won't restart and keep in blank but I still can move the mouse. I waited for quite long time but still won't restart so I pushed the power button and holded it till the machine shut down.

Hi Kappy, thank you very much for your suggestion but first I'd like to know more before proceeding to this steps since I am new to Mac ... Referring to your steps I believe that I should re-install my OS X so I want to know ;

1. Do I need DVD Rom and DVD of OS X? or is there any back up restore in my hard drive ?

2. I have office and photoshop installed, will I loose them when I reinstall my OS X?

3. Should I prepare the driver for each peripheral like graphic card, sound card, network card etc.

Thank you very much

You are in a pickle, and I hope you have a backup. See the following:

Install El Capitan or Later from Scratch

If possible back up your files.

  1. Restart the computer. At or before the the chime hold down the CommandandRkeys until the Apple logo appears. When the Utility Menu appears:
  2. Select Disk Utility from the Utility Menu and click on the Continue button.
  3. When Disk Utility loads select the volume (indented entry, usually Macintosh HD) from the Device list.
  4. Click on the Erase icon in Disk Utility's main window. A panel will drop down.
  5. Set the Format type to APFS (SSDs only) or Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)
  6. Click on the Apply button, then wait for the Done button to activate and click on it.
  7. Quit Disk Utility and return to the Utility Menu.
  8. Select Install OS X and click on the Continue button.

This will install the version of OS X you had installed.
