Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities TracyOBRN,

One of the best things about having an Apple Watch is having the ability to get your calls and texts on it without having to check your iPhone. I have some steps for you to try that might help get things working for you again.

First, let’s make sure your settings are correct. On your iPhone, open the Watch app and select the Phone app there. By default, Mirror My iPhone should be selected. If you'd rather have custom setting set, select Custom and make sure that Allow Notifications, sound, and/or hepatic is enabled. Follow these same steps again but this time select Messages instead of Phone. If your settings were already set up correctly, try restarting both your Apple Watch and your iPhone next. This is a simple step but it can make a big difference for issues like this.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

I also recommend taking a look at Notifications on your Apple Watch, specifically this section:

If you don't see notifications on your Apple Watch

When your devices disconnect, your notifications go to your iPhone instead of your Apple Watch. To check your connection, swipe up on the watch face to open Control Center. If your devices are disconnected, you might see User uploaded file, User uploaded file, or User uploaded file. Try to connect your iPhone and Apple Watch.

When your Apple Watch locks or you turn on Do Not Disturb, your notifications go to your iPhone.

  • When your Apple Watch is locked, User uploaded file appears on the watch face.
  • When Do Not Disturb is on, User uploaded file appears on the watch face. To turn this feature off, swipe up on the watch face, then tap User uploaded file.

For third-party apps, notifications are delivered only if your paired iPhone is also connected to a network.

Let me know if you still run into problems with calls and messages on your Apple Watch.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

Cheers!
