When I tap the space bar, sometimes it acts like the backspace key

I have a 6s plus. Since last update, the space bar sometimes sends the cursor back one space. It really slows down my messaging when I have to keep correcting the space bar because it back spaces instead of actually spacing. Anyone with this issue?

If you finger stay a bit longer on the spacebar, you activate track pad to move the caret anywhere in your text.

I have been having the same problem since the last update. I was hoping that I wasn’t alone. Doesn’t seem to be a fix yet.
