Opening Excel 2019 on a Mac
how do i change the default app for opening Excel 2019 from the numbers app to the Excel app
iPad, iOS 4.3.3
select the file to change for opening then command+i and go to "open with"

Thanks for your response. I am aware of that method. Mojave (and prior versions of OS X opened Excel 2011 automatically using the Excel app (no need to right click the file name). That is much faster and I would like to do the same in Excel 2019.
Smokerz, after I sent you a reply I randomly checked a few old Excel files using your suggested method. They all indicated "Open with Excel app". What's more they all opened in Excel. I installed Excel 2019 a couple days ago and I'm thinking the finder "learned" my preference after four or so iterations of me closing the Numbers versions then reopening them using the Excel app.
Anyway, it looks like my problem is solved.
