Why don’t we have a dabbing emoji
we need a dabbing emoji.
we need a dabbing emoji.
Yup, it could also be that one. If that's what the OP meant, then it is extremely likely to be rejected. A particular dance move doesn't warrant its own emoji as it would be overly specific.
Selection Factors for Exclusion
Overly specific. Is the proposed character overly specific?
For example, SUSHI represents sushi in general, although images frequently show a specific type, such as Maguro. Adding SABA, HAMACHI, SAKE, AMAEBI and others would be overly specific.
A limited number of emoji can be added each year. Thus emoji that “break new ground” are strongly favored over emoji that are variants of others. Thus a proposal for additional species of owl would be viewed negatively.
After witnessing him choke in Super Bowl "L" I think the face plant emoji high needs to go high on the list - And I get to say that! I had to dress up in a mascot uniform and sweat like White Buffalo Woman had given me the gift of perspiration and "dab" in front of a camera with 150 other people and then witness Carolina playing Keystone Cops (yes, I know who they are) football and they lost; get this they LOST against the Broncos! THE BRONCOS!!!
Anyway as stated you need to get the proper information to the UniCode Consortium submit your request, examples of your request and reason for your request, etc. If they (UniCode) feel your request is appropriate they will provide an outline to be used by Apple, Microsoft, Google, etc for that will be modified to fit their identity and released in whatever cycle the draft was agreed upon.
Need? No, we don't need this:
dabbing is a method of consuming concentrated cannabis oil by dropping a small amount on a hot surface and allowing it to vaporize.
You can try submitting it, but don't be surprised if it's rejected.
Dabbing, or the dab, is a simple dance move or gesture in which a person drops the head into the bent crook of a slanted, upwardly angled arm, while raising the opposite arm out straight in a parallel direction. Since 2015, dabbing has been used as a gesture of triumph or playfulness, becoming a youthful American fad and Internet meme.[1] The move looks similar to someone sneezing into the "inside" of their elbow.
Not that anyone here care or gives a hoot, but Dabbing is Cam Newton, the NFL Carolina Panther’s quarterback, signature move after he throws a touchdown pass or makes a great play. He sort of put the move on the map so to speak.

I think emojis are a poor replacement for the pictographs in ancient times. At least those were drawn/painted by hand and showed artistry, whereas today it’s just click, click, click.

Hey Kurt, don’t hold back. You can tell us how you really feel about it. 😁
For the record, I am in total agreement with what you are saying. I love the sport (I guess that’s not a big secret based on what I use as my avatar) but I am so tired of the celebrations and the dancing after a player scores.

Agree! “When you get into the end zone, act like you’ve been there before.” has often been attributed to Vince Lombardi, but the true origins of the phrase are difficult to verify.
Bud Grant used to fine his players just for spiking the ball in the end zone. He expected professional behavior at all times.
Not all that long ago, refs used to assess penalties for this dancing idiocy as either taunting, or delay of game. They can start doing that again any time now.
Go to a bar (not in Minnesota or Wisconsin) where they are watching football on Sunday and ask if anybody knows who Bud Grant and Vince Lombardi are. As a friend of mine says this is the "new NFL", the old one didn't have two teams score 50 points each in a non-OT game.
Wonder what the average age of all the respondents to this thread is? 75 at least.

😁 😁 😁 That is a very good point.

Them thar's fightin' words! I'm not that old - yet (still have well over 10 years to go before I reach that plateau).
I still think the Hosts should make "emoji" a banned word here.

Can we also have them ban emoji? When people post them from iPhones they are huge and even more annoying.
