I want to replace HDD to SSD (WD Blue 3D NAND 2TB).

How to easy to prep the SSD? Make bootable, clone data and OS and Applications.

I plan to replace them myself.

There are also apps like Carbon Copy Cloner (paid) and Super Duper (free) that will clone a disk

I installed a second HD in my 2012 Mini and it is not that hard but just be careful.

I've installed two SSD into a 2012 mini a few times. I don't use Time Machine or any type of cloning software. I have bootable externals in various OSX and macOS. I have all my data saved to externals with backups. I have all my Application installers in externals. Also use App Store if needed. The entire software process from start to finish takes me about 1.5 hours.

This is the way I prefer because I have most of the control of my clean install.

Thanks Smokerz,

Ok, For now I have Some of Application and 1TB of files on my internal HDD. I have backup of my files but not Applications.

How I can transfer the Application and my User account to the new SSD w/o Time Machine or any clone soft? LMK

I have an additional external drive if needed. And the new SSD is connected as external drive.

Thanks

IlyaSI
