The Greek-Polytonic font & keyboard no longer have the capacity to insert rough or smooth breathing marks over the initial letters of a word the way earlier operating systems could.
Is there a fix for this?

What happens when you type the ' key or the " key and then a vowel ?
Do you see this problem in all apps including TextEdit, Notes, Pages, Mail, Safari?
I solved the problem. It turns out that the shift key not only brings up capital letters but also reverses the direction of the curve in the breathing marks from smooth to rough. If one presses the accent key and then stops pressing the shift key, one can apply the rough breathing mark to a lower case letter.

Happy to hear you found the fix. As far as I know, this keyboard has always worked this way, there is no change in Mojave.
