Fixed major problems with my 4 gig nano!!...

I have a 4 gig first gen nano that i've been experiencing multiple problems with. recently, itunes would not recognize the ipod when plugged in, but windows did recognize it. I tried all the fixes that apple offered to no avail. Someone recommended I do the following and it worked ! : Click start menu and choose 'my computer'. right click on 'c' drive and choose properties. in the tools menu you will see 'check volume for errors'. click on that. it will tell you that you cannot check now but can do it on next start up. choose to do it on next start up. close all apps. and restart. pc will automatically go into a check mode (which takes a while) and fix any disk errors. viola, that did it for me. I had multiple errors on c drive that must have been screwing with itunes software. She runs like a top now. I hope this will help some of you out there...
