Infinite Campus/Java Chaos

Does anyone know a fix/workaround for the apparent imcompatability between Infinite Campus and the latest Java update? I installed JavaApplicationLauncher and JavaVM 11.5.0 only to discover that the Infinite Campus Gradebook will no longer load.

Is there any way to revert to the previous Java versions?

Here is the posting by our IT Department. It fixed mine so that I can run Camino or IE. Safari still does not work with the gradebook.

Importance: High

Listed below is the workaround for those who have already taken the Java for Mac OSX 10.4 Release 5.

Quit open browser
On the Apple Menu Bar click “Go”
Then choose Applications> Utilities> Java > J2SE
Launch Java Preferences
Change the setting from J2SE 5.0 to J2SE 1.4.2
Save
Close
Open Browser
Log-in to Infinite Campus and open the Campus Grade Book. It should work as usual.

The Java Release 5 for Mac OSX 10.3 Update 5 has not created any issues within Infinite Campus.

This is a separate issue NOT related to All.Mac.Gradebook.hotFix.1 released from Infinite Campus on February 20, 2007.
