problems putting photos onto nano?!?!

all im trying to do is put ONE photo onto the nano...i have 15mb of space left and the photo is only 30kb and it's saying there isn't enough memory...and sometimes it updates but the photo hasn't gone onto the ipod nano! could someone pleaseeeee help me.
