Quicktime (Wnds): "Error 47 Invaild URL" and unable to load player

Whenever I load Quicktime from the start menu, I get an "Error 47 Invaild URL" pop-up.

Whenever I try to load a quicktime movie using the internal player, I get a pop-up stating that there is something wrong with a plug-in.

Whenever I uninstall Quicktime and try to reinstall it, I get an error message stating that a "newer version of Quicktime is already installed".

I just deleted everything Apple from my program files and reinstalled them, but it still does not work (though iTunes does)
What should I do to achieve a working Quicktime player?

I am also experiencing the same problem with Quicktime; upon launch, it displays a 47 error "Invalid URL". I removed both Quicktime and iTunes, removed registry entries, re-booted the machine, and then re-installed the the applications. So far, nothing has worked. If I go to Apple's main web page, I'm greeted with a message to the effect that a plug-in has not properly launched. If anyone has any thoughts, us PC folks would like to hear them.

I forgot to add an addditional piece to this puzzle; it's Quicktime V7.1.3 that I'm speaking of; I'm assuming the other folks are trying to run the same version of the app. My system has more than enough horsepower to run this application, and it had been running previously; this happened all of a sudden. I disabled Spysweeper and Kaspersky Labs Antivirus to see if it would have any effect; nope.

I had this exact same problem. It's so frustrating!
In a previous forum from November of 05 someone replied to the same question:

Open the QuickTime Player. Dismiss the error window and open its "Preferences".
Remove the check mark for "Show Content Guide automatically".
Quit and relaunch the Player. Is the error message now gone?

I did what they said (except that the wording of "show content guide automatically" was different - but I picked the preference closest to that) and I no longer get the error message, and the player opens in a more maximized view than it had been before. So that helped get rid of the error window...

However - I have a very short movie that I already rendered and the reason I bought QuickTimePro was so that I could go to File > Share > Save For Email and save a version that could be emailed. But I go into QuickTimePro and there is no Share option.
And the Apple site is no help at all. So frustrating. It kind've makes me glad I didn't buy a Mac! I know this is a separate question, but does anyone know how to share movies using email?

Now I have uninstalled Quicktime and basically gone through my entire computer and deleted every Quicktime file I could find (due to it being a solution posted in support), but I cannot reinstall Quicktime because:
"A newer version of Quicktime is already installed. This installation cannot proceed while the newer version of Quicktime is intalled."

This is my main issue now. I cannot install Quicktime.

I to am having same problem. Maybe if I close my eyes it will go away by morning. It is affecting all my PC's. Does anyone know how to claim a refund from Apple re Quick Time PRO. Having just spent £20 on the download it appears that the key authorisation code is incorrect. Whether it has some bearing on the error 47 or maybe cos their not awake yet?
