After video chat begins iChat completely "unexpectedly quits"

Everything seems to be working. My Mom is on a PC with AIM. We have connected several times, but as soon as I see her video and she mine, my iChat shuts down and tells me "unexpectedly quit." I don't know what to do next.

Please help!

Since it used to work, it might be worthwhile doing some routine maintenance before thinking about anything more radical:

Let us know if that fixes it.

For Mac-PC videochats, in my experience, Skype is less hassle to set up. Both sides need to download the appropriate version:

I have the same problem trying to chat with another iChat user. Whenever we try to initiate a chat (it doesn't matter who starts it) and it finally connects, iChat just quits without saying anything on my end.

Any suggestions on what's going on would be appreciated. I've chatted with this same person since iChat was first introduced without problems until now...
