setting e-mail preferences in Safari

I'm having some trouble with Safari opening Mail when I click on an e-mail link...ideally, I would like it to open with my Yahoo! Mail, because I have not been using the application Mail, but I don't know how to switch my preferences to do that. It's actually become a really big problem!

So, any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Elyse m,

Welcome to Apple discussions: )

I am not sure I understand. Do you mean you can not log in at Yahoo email by entering your ID & password?

If you click on a link in your Yahoo email[s] using your Safari browser the link, if it is a web link will open a Safari window.

Please let me us know if you can log into Yahoo mail using the link i posted above.

Thank you for the welcome. =)

Okay...hmm...let me rephrase this...

You know when you go to a webpage, and it says, "Click here to e-mail me" or whatever, and the html is set up so that it opens your mail application?

Well, I haven't been using my mail application, and so I don't want it to open it with that.

Instead, I would like it to open a blank "compose" screen in my Yahoo Mail.

I just wanted to know if that was even possible, and, if so, how?

Hi again,

Oh, yes sorry to have misunderstood you. Yes you basically need to change the Preferences in Mail-> preferences-> General tab,
Default email reader, chose Safari or another browser Firefox for instance
& set your home page to Yahoo.

See this topic in the Mail forum for more details on how to.

Let me [us] know if that topic thread helps.

Good luck!
