Konica Minolta Magicolor 2300 DL on Mac OSX

Hi Guys,

I'm new to Mac and I've been trying to get my Magicolor 2300 DL to work through the network-connection with my Mac Mini.

I noticed a lot of other people have posted questions about it all over the internet and very little solutions have been posted. so I thought I'd post my solution here to help others. The trick is to basically use the drivers for the 2430 DL and to set the HP JetDirect protocol.

Here are all steps that got the printer working for me:
- Download and install the official Minolta 2430 DL Mac OSX drivers from the Minolta download pages.
Direct link to download: http://printer.konicaminolta.net/drivers/mac/2430dlppc.dmg
Or locate it yourself on the bottom of this page:
http://printer.konicaminolta.com/support/currentprinters/mc2430dlsup.htm#Drivers

- Go to your printer-settings and add a new printer.

- Select the IP-printer tab.

- Select the 'HP Jet Direct - Socket' protocol.
- Enter the IP Address of the printer on your LAN.
- Leave the queue-field empty

- Define a proper display-name that will be shown in the printer-dialogs when you have to select a printer. Usually 'Magicolor 2300 DL' or something like that.

- Leave location empty.
- Select the Konica Minolta Magicolor 2430DL Driver from the list.

Confirm and you're done.

I got most of this information from http://www.triking.fsnet.co.uk/Machelp.html which seems to be a little outdated now, but is still very helpful.

At least it worked for me. I'm now able to print text and graphics all in full-color.
I hope this may help others as well.
