Editing an AIF in GarageBand
When I import an AIF into GB, it gives the tag line which is the song number and title follwed by the number 1. Let's use Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" for instance. It would look like this:
2 Dreams.aiff.1
If I edit it by creating a split or doing something else, I notice that the tag line changes. Let's say I made 2 edits to the song. The tag line now looks like this:
2 Dreams.aiff.3
My question is this: When I do an edit on a song imported in AIF, am I losing sound quality? My first thought is "NO" because I am using the original file off of the CD which is an AIF file. I would appreciate multiple opinions for this question.
