Firefox for OS 10.3.9

Hi,

I'm taking an online course which recommends Explorer or Firefox as the browser. I understand Explorer is no longer supported for Mac. Which version of Firefox should I download for best results with 10.3.9?

Thanks, Gordon

Hmmm...You might try going to your Disk Utility and under the FirstAid tab try 'repair permissions'.

There is an older version available also..Firefox 1.5.0.10

After that I don't know what to tell you....someone else here may have additional ideas

Hi Gordon,

You are welcome, the Firefox icon seen in my Applications folder is the version I replaced, I needed to update it, I figured this was a good
time to do so: )
So you do have FF installed & does it opens for you?if yes great!

To install I did this:
- Double click on the dmg.file desktop folder,
- Firefox window opened [right side of screen-shot]
- Opened a finder window,
- Dragged the large FF Icon to the Applications folder.

The screen shot was done using the Grab application, found in the Applications/ Utilities folder.
I used Graphic converter to save as a Jpeg, then hosted on http://photobucket.com/.

Hi Eme,

Yes FF installed and opened for me. I connected to my online course network using it. I later tried connecting with Safari which seems to work just as well, so I may not use FF for the present, unless I discover limitations with Safari.

The course is centered around the Adobe Creative Suite and I'm expecting to learn a lot more about my Mac through this instruction. Since obtaining my Mac two years ago, I have learned very little of its capabilities. Partly due to recurring hardware troubles, hopefully resolved last week (not holding my breath) by AppleCare.

Thanks for explaining your use of the Grab application. You make a good teacher. Though Macs are cool and attractive, there are many aspects of operation which are not intuitive to people like myself.
