if i buy another ipod to replace the one i have now, will i be able to transfer the songs that are currently on my ipod to the new one? keep in mind that i do not keep songs stored on my computer in my library.

ive been researching this, but i have yet to come to a clear conclusion ...

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Not directly no. You'll need to put the songs back into iTunes and from there to your new iPod.

    Try Senuti.

It's a program that transfers music from iPod to iTunes on a Mac.

There's also a similar program called Yamipod which has a Mac version.

I've used both these on a Mac with great success.

Simple method is to use a thrid-part application such as
senuti to move contents of the old iPod to iTunes, and then load onto new iPod.

They'll be EXACT copies of your iPod songs.
