iCal not Synching Other Macs through .Mac

We subscribe to .Mac. We have 1) iMac Intel; 2) MacBook; and 3) iBook G4 for the family. OS X 10.4.8.

On my iMac in iCal I have 4 calendars with my schedule, my kids (2), and my wife's. These are all organized under a Group called "All". "All" is published on internet through .Mac. Works like a charm. I can see all the data.

The MacBook and iMac iCals are not synching with the iMac. I can only see my initial calendar.

I set up calendars to match the ones on the iMac on both the MacBook and iBook after they did not get created automatically after synching.

Previously, when I had one calendar, the iBook and MacBooks synched with the iMac no problems. All three Macs are set up to synch through .Mac and you can see through .Mac System Prefrences that they are supposidly synching.

Maybe I should start from scratch and delete the calendar databases off the iBook and MacBook and then synch? On the iBook and MacBook do they need to "subscribe" to the Calendars?- that seems to be contrary to my understanding of .Mac synching.

Thanks for any help.

Regards,
Carl

Carl,

Mac OS X 10.4: About .Mac Sync explains the Sync process.

You said:

Since that statement confuses me and you "set up calendars to match," perhaps Sync Services is also confused. According to How to reset .Mac Sync:
If your .Mac Sync begins to behave oddly, resetting the sync is a good troubleshooting step. It's essentially a "do-over," in case the computer got confused.

If you decide to start from scratch, make sure that you have used the ICal>Back up Database...feature on the iMac, if that is the computer which I presume contains your master data. iSync: How to troubleshoot sync issues related to .Mac says: You can try some things if you are having difficulty syncing with your .Mac account--for example, attempting to sync with .Mac results in contacts or appointments not transferring as expected, or an alert message.

I was in the Apple Store getting the Super Drive on my iBook G4 fixed and I asked the Genius about this issue and he said the OS X 10.4.9 release would probably fix this. I was skeptical.

I updated to 10.4.9 and now it does what I want. I didn't have to change any of the configurations.... it just worked. Go figure
