My ipod won't let me put one song on it

I tried to sync my ipod, and a song that i recently downloaded off itunes, says that it is not allowed to be on my ipod. I don't know why? it has explicit lyrics symbol by the song, but i'm not aware of any parental controls i have on. I don't have the restrict explicit lyrics on
