Error while saving record "john doe": Error: -14140

Error while saving record "john doe": Error: -14140

when changing a users preferences i try and save but it comes up with this error
Error while saving record "john doe": Error: -14140
and wont allow me to save
any ideas?

Is this a local/NetInfo user or an LDAP user? Does this occur when you try to change the settings for one user or for all? Is your OD integrated with Active Directory?

OD is intergrated with active directory and this error happens with all users
