Using a mixer to control fades

In the past I have used node points in the volume envelope to slowly fade portions of a track. However, recently I purchased a Tascam FW-1082 and would like to use the controls on the mixer to do this.

All I can get it to do is raise or lower the volume but that doesn't take hold and just changes the volume for the entire track. Nothing I have tried seems to do what node points did.

Hi H_Factor73,
It sounds like your automation record mode might be set to "Read". You need to set it to "Touch" or "Latch" to record new automation. This can be set with the popup menu that is above your timeline that probably is set to "Read" (just to the left of the project tempo setting)
