Why does my audiobooks show up in Audio books in Itunes, but shows up in music on my ipod. Is ther any way I can straighten this out. I have tried everything, is there an issue with this, or can it be fixed by doing something simple.

Just posted the same deal. I have the same problem with TV shows. On TV shows, do you show a small 'I' (not an exclaimation point) in the 'description' field? This doesnt seem to be in the audiobook field, just TV. Only saying it's gotta mean SOMETHING

Look at the file extension of one of the audiobooks you're talking about. If it ends with *.m4p then it reads as music in the Ipod. Follow the path "MyDocument, MyMusic, ITunes and in your ITunes folder change the extension to *.m4b then reload it into your Ipod. That should do the trick. I downloaded a ton of "This American Life" from ITunes and that was the problem.

My audiobooks only show up on my 5g 30GB video player if it is connected to iTunes. Disconnect and nothing. Any ideas?

I tried that, and it didn't work. Do you do this by right clicking on the file, selecting "Rename," and then putting .m4b after?

I did that...I changed the extension from a to b on all my audio book files. It organized it correctly in my library but it will not translate on my iPod! It still puts them all in my music folder. Any tricks for that?
