Burn a Audio CD onto a DVD...how?

I am out of CD-Rs, but I have a blank DVD (DVD-R). I would like to burn an audio CD onto it...how do I do that?

When I select "Burn Disc", iTunes asks me if I am sure I want to create a data DVD...I don't, I want to create a Audio CD.

I have Audio CD selected in my burning preferences under disc format.

Any ideas?

You can't burn an audio CD onto a DVD; they are different formats. Some DVD players can play data DVDs though.

If you wanted to burn audio onto a DVD that you could play in a DVD player, you would need to use something like Roxio's Toast.

I have always been under the impression that I could format a DVD as CD. Of course I would be giving up the full capacity of the DVD.

Sorry, but CDs and DVDs have fundamentally different standards and they aren't interchangeable.

They're both round and shiny, but that's about it! 🙂
