Macbook case (Uncomfortable to type.)

I bought my Macbook two weeks ago. When I am working in it I noticed that the edges along the front of the keyboard are sharp and uncomfortable for my wrist. Now I know that I probably should not rest my hands on the keyboard but I am rather a lazy typer. Is there a cover for the case? And Why did Apple make a case that is not comfortable to use?

The sharp edge problem has been reported, but it's by no means universal. I suspect that either some cases have a sharp edge and some do not (I also rest my hands, but my case doesn't feel sharp) or some people are typing at an angle that causes the edge to feel sharp. Anyway, a lot of people have reported that filing the edge very, very lightly with a fine nail file has gotten rid of the problem without causing cosmetic damage.

I don't think there is a cover specifically for the Macbook's edges. They might release one as this issue grows. Personally, I almost never rest my palms on the rest because I am afraid I will get the famous discoloration issue. But when I do rest my hands I keep my rists up so they are not touching the edges.

When Apple was designing the Macbook I don't think they thought too much about the sharp wrist wrests. They were probably putting too much effort into making the Macbook look nice in design (Which I think they did a very nice job on. I think the Macbooks and Pros are the best looking laptops on the market.), that they didn't put very much time into confortableness.

Yes, this is a major problem for me... I can't use
my MacBook for more than 10 minutes at a time without
extreme pain to my hands which rest on the edge.
I've taken it into the Apple store and they say it's
normal and within spec... I have to follow up with
Customer Service -- they all claim to have never
heard of this issue.

Hi
I thought i'd chip in.
I've had my MB now for 2 weeks and after the first few days i'd cut my palm and wrist on the sharp edges. NOT when typing for all of you who keep telling me how to type correctly, but when i'm browsing tinters using my trackpad and click pad.
I rang Apple support and they asked me to take it to the Apple store. I did. The manager said my MB was standard spec and there was no point in either a) replacing it b) repairing it.
So i rang Apple again and they informed me they had passed the info onto the 'engineering dept'.
I have spoke to Apple 4 times now and every time they have said thay have never heard of this problem before and I am the first to have rang about this annoying issue. Basicaly my last chat ended with a rather unhelpfull 'there's nothing we can do'. Nice!
PLEASE everyone, ring up and make your complaint. These things aint cheap and everyone's talking about nail files and buying a padded cover for the edge. What?! This is bad design on Apples part. We shouldn't have to adapt our own Macs so we can use them for more than 10 mins at a time.
Get on the phone!!!
If Apple tell you you are the first person to call then tell them that's a lie.
Stay strong people!!
