10.4.9 ichat update not working?

Does this device have Mac Drivers ?
Can it be seen in iMovie ?

At present it is not clear if this is just going to replace iChatUSBCam which itself needed Mac drivers.

im from the uk and my ichat is not connecting now! WDF

I updated 3 computers with 10.4.9 using Software Update -- an old PowerBook G4, a dual G5 and an Intel iMac -- and iChat isn't connecting anymore on any of the computers. I'd love to know if there's a fix.

I have the same issue after updating to 10.4.9. iChat refused to connect!!!

This suggestion might not fix the problem, but I never use the "Automatic update" for O/S upgrades. This is an "incremental update that only inserts changes into to your O/S files. I recommend you run "Disk Utility" to repair permissions, then download the 10.4.9 Combo installation file which is about 163Mbytes. This "update" effectively replaces your entire O/S with a fresh copy.

The Original Poster asked about Cameras not whether about being able to Login to AIM yesterday.

In fact nothing in his posts mentions that side of things at all

The thread subject references "10.4.9 ichat update not working?". I responded to Mark Block and hienqnguyen. They talked about problems with iChatAV after the upgrade. I felt it was only courteous to do so.

I too am having this problem with all my Macs: my MacPro, My MacBook Pro, and my iMac Core Duo after 10.4.9 installed. I can no longer video chat. I tried it within my own network, outside of my own network over the Internet, and many other networks.

It's clearly broken.

Yep. In fact, nothing changed on the three Macs or the multiple networks I use -except- 10.4.9 was installed.

Text chat still works... so does video on Skype.

I think I may be having a simmiler problem. I have an ibook g3 900 and I get a black preview screen with my xbox 360 web cam. Quicktime, iMovie, photo booth, mirror (dashboard) all get the black screen or an error message. I noticed this in the log:

It appears that many folks are having issues w/ichat after 10.4.9 update.

I have already done the full 10.4.9 download and re-applied the full update plus I did the disk-utility option that repairs permissions and ichat is still hanging.

I also installed ichat from the original DVDs which allows me to connect occasionally without hanging.

Is there a way to "rollback" to 10.4.8? I'm a newbie w/Macs and outside of wiping my machine and starting over, I don't know another way.

I have the same issue after updating, I cannot even GET a video from someone else on Ichat now, so not only does my camera no longer work, I can't see anyone else either!! I can only text "chat". I did a reinstall of quicktime, I have done all the obvious fixes, nothing helps. I hope the folks at Apple see this and fix it FAST!!!
