Make Thumbnail automator script...

I put the "Create Preview and Icon" in the contextual menu. I happen to have the demo of Graphic Converter on my system right now. Even though the file I am trying to create an icon for is set to open with Preview, every time I launch the automator script it launches Graphic Converter in order to do this.

Is there any way to make a thumbnail from any type graphic just with a script and OSX? Thanks!

Image Events is a background application that should be able to do what you need. Apple has provided a few "starter scripts" at this link:

This Terminal (or shell) command will iconify every jpg file in your home folder regardless of upper or lowercase suffixes:

find ~ -type f \( -name *.jpg -o -name *.JPG \) xargs sips -i {} \;

You would normally replace the squiggle with the path to your target folder.
