Hi,
Why not just plug another monitor into the ATI X800XT, it has another connector (ADC), just get a ADC->DVI adapter like this:

To add another Video card to the G5 you'll have to get a PCI video card (Mac Edition), if you've got enought PCI slots available. There are ATI 9200's available from some retailers like OWC that will work for you too. Like this:

Flashing PC cards to Mac ROM is not easy, you'll need a PC and some knowledge and risk.

> thanks for the E shop link. I may have been told in
an earlier discussion: or possiblly on another thread
topic that it was best to go from DVC to VGA. In fact
I remember being told absolutley not to go from DVC
to DVI then adapt to VGA.

Any additional thoughts?

Thanks

I don't know what you mean "DVC".
But, going from VGA to DVI is a poor deal.
ADC to DVI works fine.

Sorry ADC to DVI, then use a converter to got to
VGA.

Does that make more sense?

Many (maybe all) ADC to DVI adapters only pass the digital video, not the analog needed for VGA.
Notice the note at the end of the page for the ADC to DVI adapter mentioned earlier:
"OWC NOTE: Not compatible with DVI-VGA adapters."

Use an ADC to VGA adapter to use a VGA display with a graphics board using an ADC port. Gefen sell one
