Using RPM on Mac OS X 10.4

Using RPM on Mac OS X 10.4

Does Apple have an equivalent RPM application that can be used to install/uninstall rpm files?
Or can RPM itself be used?
If so is just a matter of downloading an RPM install file or does the path to the rpmd have to be added to a system file so it knows to execute the daemon whenever I try to use rpm?

rpm is RedHat Package Manager. What RedHat packages are you trying to install on OS X?
A Google search for 'rpm for mac os x' found me some stuff on converting .rpm files to OS X pkg files.

What, specifically, are you trying to do? Linux programs in executable format won't run on OS X, and most source code packaghes which can be easily built and run on OS X are available in the ubiquitous Unix 'tar' format.

I work in computer security and I'm trying to get more involved in ethical hacking groups. A tool that I'm trying to install on my system displays processes that are running on computers on a network. The files for the tool are downloaded as RPMs.

More specifically...in an attempt to enhance my career in computer security I'm trying to get experience in hacking so I can get into penetration testing.
