Help, iPod stuck in reboot loop.

I had to restore and update my iPod because I updated iTunes. After that, my iPod froze, so I reset it. After I reset it, the apple icon appears, the backlight comes on, and it shuts off. It takes about 5 seconds to do this and it just keeps on repeating. The computer doesn't recognized that its plugged in, and I've let the battery die out, and as soon as i plug it back in, it starts to loop again. Resetting doesn't work either. I hope someone can help me out.

Try This: do the reset pressing the center and menu buttons as you know, then when the light apple appears(the one that barely can see) immediately press center and Previous (arrow) for about 6 secs. this is a self test that ipod do, first appears an green screen, then the auto test...
Worked on my 80 Gb video ipod when i haved that problem...
If does not work, or freeze reset again

I have the same problem. I suspect it has to do with the tags on your mp3 files. I didn't have this problem for the first few months of my IPODs use, but it happened after I synced a new batch of music files. There is a discussion of this problem at the following link:

I believe that if the tags are too long (256 chars or more) or contain nonstandard characters, then the IPOD will crash and seek to reboot. The discussion at the link above suggests that a batch tag editor might help. I am also trying to convert the tags of files in my files to an updated format in itunes. If anyone figures out if I am on the right path, please share the best approach for fixing it. thanks,
