Videos from iTMS will not sync

Question

Videos from iTMS will not sync

Movies and TV shows that I have purchased from the iTunes Store will not sync to my TV. I have a few a video I have made myself in iTunes and those copied perfectly fine, but the videos from the iTunes Store will not transfer.
I have tried restarting iTunes, my computer, and the TV.
These video files stream perfectly fine, but will not sync.

Any ideas?

Same here... I get a message "was not copied because the video format is not supported by the Apple TV"

Douglas,

Have you ensured all the steps in knowledge base article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305098 in the section for Syncing Content has been performed, particularly the last one with clicking the Apply button?

Yep...I have followed all of those steps.
I am able to get everything else to sync correctly, just not videos from the iTunes Store.
For example: I select the shows I want to sync. Then I click "Apply" and then I click "Sync". The sync bar spins in the iTunes display and then the Apple logo appears after a few seconds. I do not receive any sort of error message.

Douglas,

Have you tried deauthorizing and then re-authorizing the computer with the iTunes Store account that was used to purchase the media?

same problem here. movies downloaded from itunes play fine on my powerbook, won't sync on apple tv ("video format is not supported". all other content behaves perfectly.

I got this to work. Delete movie from iTunes and check the save movie to trash box in the delete window. Then go to the trash, drag the movie to the desktop. Double click on the movie on the desk top. iTunes opens, reinstalls it and it automatically syncs with Apple TV. Apple TV now can play it.
