Notation view- adding middle C into base clef...

I am trying to enter some sheet music into garageband using the notation view, which is working fine, it a song in C major...

HOWEVER...anytime I try to enter middle C (c3 in apple) into the Bass Clef it automatically moves the note up to the Treble Clef and then messes up the entire timing of that measure.

Does anybody know how to make it STOP doing that so that it will allow me to enter notes that are in the treble clef to the bass clef???? Thank you!

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to do.

Middle C is ALWAYS entered on a ledger line either just above the bass clef or just below the treble clef.

It doesn't make any sense musically, or notation wise, to enter treble clef notes in the bass clef.

How are you entering the notes?

Cheers

You can't enter notes that should

I suppose you are trying to input a piano score with two voices (left hand/right hand), right?

GB is very limited in its notation capabilities. In the notation view it assumes automatically that a note below the middle belongs to the left hand and a note above the C to the right hand (even for instruments that are monophonic). I don't see any way to change that.

What you could do is enter each hand into a separate tracks (and ignore the way GB displays the notes).

However, you'd be much better off entering notes in the "piano roll" mode. It doesn't care which "hand" a note belongs to - just input all the notes into one grid. It's very precise and doesn't take long to get used to.
