yahooo mail plus and mail.app sync problem

I currently subscribe to Yahoo mail plus which gives me pop access to my emails.

I have everything set up correctly band wanted to know if the 'sent items' folder will sync with mail.app and the web browser interface.. so that when i access my mail through the web application, i will be able to see messages i had sent when i was using mail.app

Any help is much appreciated.. or am i trying to do something that just isn't supported?

Synchronizing with the server mailboxes other than Inbox, whatever that means, can only be done with an IMAP account.

Actually, POP mail clients such as Mail don’t “sync” with the server, not even the Inbox. Rather, POP mail clients download messages from the server ( Inbox only) and maybe remove the messages from the server afterwards ( Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove copy from server).

For POP accounts, whatever you do to the messages downloaded by Mail, you’re doing it to the local copy of the messages, not to the messages that may still remain on the server. Similarly, whatever you do to the messages on the server via webmail has no effect on the messages already downloaded by Mail. Only IMAP accounts allow the mail client to be kept synchronized with the server.

Some web-based mail services that also provide POP/SMTP access, such as Gmail, do store on the server a copy of the messages you send through their SMTP servers, but this is a feature of each particular mail service. Mail has no bearing on it other than the fact that Mail will send using whatever outgoing (SMTP) server you tell it to use.
