runtime error; terminate in unusal way

i'm having that same problem! hopefully someone knows how to fix this...?

I'm having the same problem - the only way to clear it is to go into Task Manager and kill the iTunes.exe application. iTunes worked fine on Friday, then I went out of town and came back today to this. Help!

then another box pops up and says microsoft visual c++ runtime library then runtime error program:c:/programfiles/itunes/itunes.exe application has requested the runtime to terminate

I am experiencing the exact same problem and error messages. This started on March 26th, everything was fine until then.

I tried a solution prescribed in another thread which was: to rename the itunes pref files from the application folder and move them to desktop, and then relaunch itunes; did not work. I did launch itunes under the guest account on my computer, and it works fine. This is a remedy, but I would like to completely fix the problem.

try doing a selective startup, as per the following document:

does iTunes launch after the selective startup?

if so, could you post back with a list of the Startup iTems and services you had to disable? (exact spelling and capitalisation, please.)

anyone found out how to fix the runtime error when opening iTunes? If not, how do contact apple support for an issue like this?

I see that so many of us are having this problem, but I can't find a solution anywhere. I've tried all of the suggestions, but am not getting anywhere.

This is ridiculuos, it's cleary a common problem. It should be like a main thread on the first page and someone should just solve it, one and for all. I hate to be another one to add to the list, but I'm having the same issue. I just got back from a 2 week trip - it worked fine before I left, now it doesn't. It's a good thing I'm not a conspiracy theorist! It could make one wonder...anyway, has anyone been able to fix theirs yet? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

Okay--just as suddenly it started working fine again.....until yesterday. Same problem.

It hasn't worked no matter what I've tried...until today. I clicked on my iTunes icon this morning and there were no error messages. It's working fine. Doesn't make sense.
Wonder how long it will last this time.
