Trash Window Pop-Up

Hey guys,

Sometimes when I throw stuff into the trash, the window pops up to show what is inside the trash. Sometimes it does this, and sometimes it doesn't. Is there anyway to turn off this feature? Its pretty annoying.

Hi.

If you trash your files by dragging them into the Trash Can on the Dock, chances are you 'delay a bit more' by dragging and staying in the Trash Can icon, prompting the Trash Can folder to open up.

You can try adjusting the 'Delay' of this inside Finder's preferences, see under 'Spring-loaded folders and windows", slide the 'Delay' slider and experiment and find your preference.

The other way to see if your system is "whack" or not, is try this way to put files in your Trash, highlight the file and use keys 'Command + Delete', Commd OptDel is to Empty Trash.

If the keyboard commands do not open up the Trash window, then maybe it is the effect of the spring-loaded folder.

Cheers
