"Incompatible Format" error

I just got the Final Cut Pro Crossgrade to run on an Intel-based Mac and I ran into a new issue which I never had on the older version. It could be that...or it could be that this is my first HD-editing assignment to go onto Standard Definition DVD. [but even after trouble-shooting to see what if I specified HD-DVD format, I ran into the same issue --- unable to load the video onto DVD Studio. It will, however, load onto iDVD.]

After I made a Quicktime (non-conversion), DVD Studio Pro 4.0 gave me an "Incompatible Format" error when I try to import an assett... which is boggling my mind.

Any ideas as to why this may be happening? some good troubleshooting?

Here is more information on the properties of the sequence with step-by-step actions.

Creator: Quicktime Player
Vid Rate: 29.97 fps
Frame Size: 1440 x 1080
Compressor: HDV 1080i60
Data Rate: 3.2 MB/sec
Pixel Aspect: HD(1440 X 1080)
Field Dominance: Upper(Odd)
Composite: Normal

To export the sequence onto DVD Studio Pro, using Final Cut 5.1, I went to File -> Export -> Quicktime Movie.

When I go into DVD Studio Pro 4.0 with settings for SD-DVD, I clicked on File -> Import -> Assets and it will not allow me to import the file stating the reason as "Incompatible Format".

I was hoping to avoid using Compressor .. as the Quicktime Movie (the non-conversion format) is usually quicker.

More Updates --

I apologize that this keeps on getting more jumbled up. I was toying around with the settings on Final Cut Pro 5.1. When exporting the sequence, I clicked on File -> Export -> Quicktime Movie and in that Windows, I changed the Settings bar from "Standard Settings" to "HDV 1080i60".

When importing the file into DVD Studio Pro, I no longer received the "Incompatible Format" error. I now receive an error stating "NTSC Assetts cannot be imported into PAL projects". When I clicked on Preferences in DVD Studio Pro 4.0, it says I am in NTSC though.

I now receive an error stating "NTSC Assetts cannot be imported into PAL projects". When I clicked on Preferences in DVD Studio Pro 4.0, it says I am in NTSC though.

I am guessing it is the import process ( Also take a look at page 22 and 63 of the PDF for some discussion of HDV elements.)

Your best bet - Compressor and make sure you are choosing an NTSC Preset for 16:9 aspect size in Compressor and make an AC3 file for the audio (as an aside using Compressor and not letting DVD SP do the encoding is usdually preferred, less hang ups/stalls, more control and is ultimately going to be quicker/easier.)

1.) Make sure preferences are to NTSC
2.) Close DVD SP and open again and start new project, double check to make sure it is NTSC
3.) Bring the m2v and the AC3 file in

Try this on a short section to see if works, it should, or it may be other things, corrupt preferences etc. So some other steps may be needed.
