Is there still only 128kbps downloads available on iTunes store?

Is there anything higher available like the 192k standard on every other mp3 store?

If not, I hope that Apple recognizes that 128k for $1 is pretty lousy if it cares about any standards out there that have far exceeded this.

No. Apple only sells 128KBps music. Pretty much every mainstream store sells at that quality level as well.

If you think that a buck per song is too expensive, talk to the RIAA. Apple works very hard to maintain their .99 rates. The record labels have been wanting to increase the prices to something like 1.25 per song. Apple can do little on this. They can only sell what the studios allow them to.
