False warning-"No disk in drive"

Help!

Whenever I plug my iPod nano into anyone of my USB ports I get a warning window come up that won't go away, "Warning- There is no disk in drive. Please insert a disk into drive." It doesn't seem to matter whether I have a disc in my cd-ron drive or not. I click "Cancel"..the warning window comes back, I click "Try Again", it comes back, I click "Continue" it comes back! It fricking won't go away!

I can't even click "Restore" cuz' this stupid window is blocking me from doing anything else. The only way out is "Ctrl/Alt/Del" and even that takes acouple of attempts before it works.

So in the meantime I'm having trouble updating my iPod at all. Anybody else ever see this problem?

I found a way to fix it myself. I found some tips at http://www.drewfindley.com/findleydesigns/support.html . Since I only get the error message when the iPod is plugged in, so without it plugged in I could still start up iTunes with no problem(Step 1). Next, I borrowed steps 2 & 3 and this made it possible for me to have the iPod plugged in without having the STUPID error message block me from any other options, so I figured, hey why not just go for the “Restore” option. I got this far. Click. Wait. Problem solved. I made my own step 4 and the heck with 5-16.
