Recurring iCal Invitiations Annoyance

When deleting/modifying a recurrence of an iCal invite I create, the update email displays the original event date rather than the recurrence date. This leads to many ignored event updates. Any workaround besides automatically retrieving invitations from Mail? Not an option with Entourage and PC users.
