music has gaps in my slideshow

I tried joining together 2 songs with join together apple script to eliminate gaps but it didnt work. I tried fade feature in itunes and there was still a gap of 6 seconds.

Is there a way to join the songs w/o a gap?

Or should I try putting in imovie, if so how can i do it?

Welcome to the forums!

You've got some options:
- an audio editing program will let you trim the beginning or end. You might even look at the free MPEG Streamclip (not an audio editing program) to see if it can open and trim your file.

- Quicktime Pro ($29) easily does trimming but doesn't open all audio file formats (what's your format?).

- Garageband should be able to handle that task (I haven't played with it).

- iMovie is a cheap and effective option but you'll have to learn some about the program (could be useful for another project). Import each song separately separately and you can either hush a section or clip it away. You have two audio tracks in iMovie, so both songs can be overlapped. I'd vote for hushing a section by fading in/out as appropriate (clicking the audio track allows you to set a point where you change the volume up or down -- drag that point up or down to change volume).

Put the audio in separate tracks and get their individual fade out/in set first (you can unclick each audio track on the right to mute it). Once each is set, then click away from volume line in the track so you can drag the song back and forth to match it up with the other track. Use the magnification slider (expands your view of the timeline) to zoom in (makes matching easier).

It's actually pretty easy to do in GarageBand, if you can figure out the interface. You can drag one song into the large area (to create a track). Then place the playhead at the end (like in iMovie) and import the second song after the first one, in the same track. You can cut out the gap, fade in and out where you like. Export the whole GB project to iTunes and it will be one iTunes "song" that you can select for use with your slideshow.
