Recognizing old camera

I have an old JVC GR-AXM230. It's a VHS cam, I just want to use it as an extra webcam sort of deal, but i'm not sure of how to connect it. All it has is a yellow and white AV plug. What do I need to connect this camera to the MacBook Pro's DVI, Firewire or USB port for it to recognize the video?

Macbook Pro 1.83GHz, Mac OS X (10.4.9), 1 GB RAM / 120GB @ 5400 rpm

Hi Mark - no go, I'm afraid. Pre-digital, and non-firewire. The only way to import such material would be by using a modern digital-tape vidcam with a 'pass-through' capability, or some othe type of converter. Probably not worth the hassle for your purposes.
