Delete problem

I have just deleted some images from some some albums I created, but aperture has deleted not only these album contents, but also the images form their original location album!
Help, have I lost these images for good now?!?!

Mac OS X (10.4.8) iMAC G5

You probably used 'delete version' instead of 'remove version from album'.
If it was the only version from a master it should be in the trash bin, inside a folder called Aperture.
If you had more versions of that master and you deleted one it'll be gone (the adjustments, the master will remain with the other versions) unless you have an updated vault from which you can recover it.

Just after deleting something by mistake you can press Command+Z to undo it.

O.k I have just 're-loaded' the missing images from my original folders on my hard drive. But in future if I create an album, and wish to delete certain images from this album, how do I go about it? I can't find an option from any drop downs to simply 'delete version' ? Only the option to 'delete album'.

Ctrl+click on the image and 'remove from album'. If the image is part of a stack you'll have to extract it first, but it'll be extracted from the stack in every album or project containing them.
