What is the diferrence between .aif and .aiff formats?

I am about to sign my first publishing contract! (sorry, for my lack of modesty, but it's so exciting!). They are asking me for "high quality uncompressed audio File (AIFF or WAV)" and this is where I am not sure what to do. Logic gives me more than one AIFF Audio File (.aif and .aiff, and when created, each one has a different icon). So which one should I choose? Besides format, what-else should I pay attention to (resolution, sample rate, etc.)?
Good people, please help!

Thanks

If I only could, making music is what I rather do. I wish somebody else could help me with EQ levels, compressions and the entire audio engineering. I have so many songs that are musically done, however, I am stuck with the technical aspects of the finished product. I rather compose than read manuals on how to, for example, eliminate peaks. Logic has its learning curve and I am not good at technicalities! But, I can't yet afford to pay a professional to do it for me.

Congrats on your contract.
That is great news.
I came at recording from the same place as you are.
I am still not very technical at all and things others learn - or seem to learn to easily - have been tough going for me. Both computer and electronic wise.
But the good news is that although it seems like a mountain now. Learn just one thing at a time. Break it in to peices. You'll be surprised how fast it all comes together.

Also stay on this forum. I am amazed at how much I learn from this.

Best of luck.

Trust me... you can! Just keep asking questions and feel free to elicit constructive feedback on your mixes. There are a number of us here, myself included, that would be happy to help you out and give you whatever advice we can.

In this case it's not a question of Logic itself. It's more of a question of audio engineering, which is more knob tweaking than manual reading. 🙂

Can I ask?
Is it with Peermusic?
Tell me it's none of my business and I won't be offended.
Peer in Toronto anyway are also a great help to me over past many years. They have some really good songwriters who are experienced engineers and often like to help.
Also A&R guy is good with knob twirling as well.
Maybe tap in to your publisher as a technical resource as well as here. If they can't help they would want to direct you to those who can.
Cheers
Dee
