Problem Burning Lightscribe

I have an external Samsung SH-S128M DVD Burner with Lightscribe, but I can't get any lightscribe to burn on my discs. I had a Lacie Lightscribe burner earlier that worked perfectly, but I can't get this one to work at all.

I've been to the Lightscribe website and downloaded 1.4.142.1 (the latest software), but it's still not working. I've tried both Disc Cover RE and even the Lacie Lightscribe labeler. It makes it look like it's working, but I'll either get nothing, or gibberish.

Any ideas? I know the lightscribe portion of the drive works because the first disc I tested worked fine, but ever since it just stopped.

No, I did not. I did however read on a website that some lightscribe drives in the external enclosures have trouble burning the lightscribe layers due to communications errors between the computer and enclosure drive. I'm hoping that an update to the lightscribe software will fix this in the near future, but as of now, there's no fix I've been able to find y yet. 😟

I have a same problem.

Although my burner says it is SE-S184M, latest firmware SB04 update changed it to SH-S128M and everything works fine with windows, but not OS X. The writing functions works without the problem but the Lightscribe doesn't work on OS X.

I asked for support through official Lightscribe website and they are aware of certain types of external drives not working properly with OS X. The one who sent the reply said new firmware and new Lightscribe system software(1.6.43.1) might help, although it didn't really change anything for me. Instead of communication error, I get code 4225 error.
