white macbook still turning yellow

I bought my macbook when it was first released and it hasn't turned yellow on me. I use it everyday. It's the palm rest that turns yellow. And it's because of the sweat on your palms and wrist. Anyone that uses their laptop heavly this can happen. Laptops will always have an issue like this. My company uses Dell Laptops, and we have laptops with discoloring on the palm/wrist rests. Now, it shouldn't turn yellow within the first couple months, but over time it can change color.

My friends iBook has that issue. It happened over a couple of years. She doesn't care anymore.

So my advice is to go ahead and buy the white one with the Apple care and don't worry about it. And trust me, Apple CSR are very easy to deal with, if you have to call them in a few months.

I haven't heard any issues with the current MacBook's exhibiting any discoloration. I had the issue on my Rev A. Core Duo model and they just replaced everything the same-day free of charge, since then I have had no issues. So I would say you'll be just fine!

are there other cosmetic concerns with
the black macbooks?

My black MacBook is about 10 months old, and the areas that are touched frequently (space bar, trackpad, etc) start to get a little shiny. But it's not a big deal.

As far as the discoloration, I think the C2D models don't discolor, and if yours does, Apple should definitely replace it.
