I can't find a SETTINGS tab either after 4 hours looking! I have selected my iPOD in the source list - but no information or settings tab appears in the main itunes window.
Can anyone help me - I am desperate and everyone seems to think I should find the tab - my iPOD needs restoring and I am lost without it!

When you connect the iPod you should see 'devices' appear in the left-hand column. Below that you'll see the name of your iPod. Click on the name of your iPod. You should now see the Summary page, which is the equivalent of your iPod preferences tab in previous versions of iTunes. About halfway down the Summary page, it'll say "If you're experiencing problems with your iPod you can restore its original factory settings" after which you see a restore button. Click it to restore your iPod.
