What does the asl.log file contain ???

I've had an issue with ARD crashing continually and have found an "asl.log" file in /var/logs that was 800+ Mb ...

What does it hold please ?

Hi,

asl = Apple System Log facility

If you're not afraid of Terminal

- open Applications > Utilitiess > Terminal
- type man asl

To sneak peak at the (latest addition to the) contents of asl.log

- type tail -100 /private/var/log/asl.log

Thanks Walter,

I'm an old Unix user (basic) and did as you suggested so thanks for the decipher of the ASL part ...

I was rather concerned it was 800+ Mb !

It's now rm'd actually sudo rm -r I think ...
