Why does my streaming video keep stopping (buffering)?

I'm streaming movies purchased from the iTunes store and located in iTunes on my Apple TV synched iMac('g' wireless). During streaming playback the video keeps stopping every few minutes and rebuffering. I have 3 Airport Express w/ ITunes scattered throughout the house. All are 'G' standard wireless. The microwave is not on, I threw away all my 2.4GHz phones 1 iMac ago, and no...I don't have bullet proof glass in my house. Why is this happening?

I am having the same problem, even on video that is on the Apple TV hard drive. My guess is that if more than one person is using the network the stream and/or sycned video (if they are using it as you sync) will studder.

I am not having any problems syncing to my Apple TV or playing any content directly from Apple TV. The problem has only occured when Streaming from the Synced iMac. There may have been laptops in use during my trial streaming. I will try it with them off.

Not that I have any real help to offer, but I have read about mixed results when streaming video using a "G" network. Seems that is one of the reasons Apple jumped into "N" early (aside from the fact they like to be first with new stuff when they can).

As a test, if you could move a mac so that you could hook up via ethernet (or move your ATV; unless you have a long ethernet cable). Try streaming from the mac via ethernet, this way you can determine if there is a Mac or ATV problem causing the buffering, vs network issues.

Well I took part of your suggestion. I moved my iMac from the far end of the house and down one level (large 5 bedroom house) to the same level as the AppleTV and now life is good! No streaming problems over the wireless "g" network since the move (Problems with kids disturbing my work is another story). Thanks for your input!
