Can't get my site to show on google search

I have submitted the site to google and verified it. I even thought the sitemap worked, but after submitting the sitemap to google...it still doesn't work and I can't find it in a search. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

it takes some time for google to recognize your site!

give me the location of your sitemap and i will ping google about your sitemap.

I have heard it takes 2 weeks to 2-3 months for Google to crawl sites. I usually have a place holder page weeks before I am done, and let it do its thing while I am creating site.

So far, it eventually has found pages.

Doing what you have done should be the right thing...registering it, and site map, etc.

I did it about 2 months ago. I'm just now getting to figuring out why the stuff I did back then didn't work.

Notice anything odd about the URL's you pasted into the Discussions page?
Do you see where the first one translates the apostrophe (') into %27 but that the rest of the URL's truncate the link and show the balance as just text?

Never use punctuation in a file or folder name intended for Web use.
Not that it matters for Google searching but having your links work is pretty important.
Google has even found these Discussions pages. Just enter a member name as the search term.

I'm pretty good with computers, but don't know much about web stuff...which may make my previous statement invalid! But, just using iweb, I didn't know about how it named the folders and how folders should be named, etc. I'll need to do some editing.

Were my links not working properly? Is that why when I do a search for another page it doesn't show up? I found my site using my member name, but I'd like for the text in the pages to show up in a search or in google images. (i.e. "ozarks dayhike"). Thanks.

you need to change your sitemap. it is not recognized by google as being a .txt file! you will need to change it to .xml!!!!

once finished - mail me the location of your sitemap (eg.: web.mac.com/marcus_allen/sitemap.xml). ill ping google and your stie will be up in a matter of seconds!

I think i've fixed it: web.mac.com/marcus_allen/sitemap.xml

but I'm not sure. Maybe it just says xml but is being read as a txt file. I actually used your tutorial to get where I am now, but may something didn't go right. It says it's an xml.
